It’s Never Too Early For Christmas

June 14, 2010 on 4:57 am | By admin | In Home and Family

I was out shopping around and ran into some out of season supplies. I live by the philosophy that nothing is too early and that things happen for a reason. So when I stumbled onto seasonal decorations I could resist. I bought Christmas, Halloween, and Thanksgiving decorations during March. It was almost comical when I checked out at the register. I nearly wiped out the whole stores supply, which they were probably grateful for. It seems that they put that up in the off chance someone like me comes along and buys everything. It gives them a chance to stock up with new merchandise.

June 10, 2010 on 11:14 am | By admin | In Home and Family

It is not all year long that I have to worry about critters outside attacking my plants and garden that I have worked so hard to maintain. Obviously there are some months where I do not have anything in the ground at all that will grow or that I have to worry about a deer or insect attacking. I am looking for seasonal lighting operated by battery. This way it can keep my outside lit and hopefully be a distraction to the critters during the months that I have planted or they are in the delicate process of growth where they can have no disturbances.

So you’ve got a great greenhouse garden which is so tasty that the neighborhood pests (insects, not people) are eating up your garden. What can you do? The first thing you need to do is go to your nearby nursery and find out what kind of Greenhouse Insect Control you can use.

Now if you’re a environmentally conscience gardener, you’re trying to go “green” and you don’t want to use any of those scary chemicals in your garden that kill more than the insects. So what is your alternative? You could use companion planting, but if you’ve tried it you might find that doesn’t always work.
