Do Certain Dog Foods Cause Canine Bladder Problems?

A friend of mine told me that her vet advised her to stop feeding her 2 year old Husky dog food that is high in protein. I was rather shocked to hear this because my vet has always recommended it. According to my friend, her vet said that allowing a dog to have too much protein in their diet can cause them to have canine bladder problems later on in life. If this could be true, I do not want to take any chances with my 4 year old Chocolate Lab. Has anyone else ever heard of this before? I have given my dog high protein dog food for the last 3 years now and I am really concerned.
