Teaching The Game Of Chess After A Visit To The Store

We were there to pick out a birthday gift for one of his friends birthday party that he would be attending the following weekend. While walking through a specialty games store, my son came across a chess set. I smiled to myself as he played with some of the glass pieces of the set. He turned to me and asked if the rules of chess would be too hard for him to understand. I told him that they of course were not because he was such a smart boy. He smiled, and when he turned away to look for a gift for his friend, I purchased the chess set. Later that night, I sat down with him and taught him out to play chess.
